Models
I've built plastic models since I was a child. In my college years and after I got pretty hot and heavy into them. One can obsess over the details, and I suppose some shrink somewhere will tell you thats a bad thing. Let them. Nobody's making you listen to them.
Most of these were complete a number of years ago. I have many "works in progress", many lofty goals for many of my models, and lots of scratchbuilding ideas, but these are some of my better "finished" models. In excess of 100 hours goes into each of these, some taking months of work to complete. Many of these are extensively modified kits, many containing scratchbuilt frames and suspension systems, wired engine bays, and paint finishes that are accomplished using many of the same techniques and materials you'd find in a professional body shop.
Custom models of your personal vehicle or dream-car can be made to order upon request. Prices for basic, out-of-the-box builds start at $150. More to come soon! Enjoy!

1927 Model T Roadster
This is from AMT's reissue, 3-in-1 Model T kit. I bought it for the coupe body, which turned out to not be what I wanted (ended up getting a T-coupe resin body from Altered States Models). It's cool though, becaue now I have 4 bodies to build from! This little rod was really more of a design study than anything, but it was fun and the result is an appealing, classic hot rod.
34 Rat Truck
I bought a bunch of kits from fellow artist Greg Nelson, and this really nice 1934 Ford Pickup was one of the lot. I just couldn't help myself...I had to break out the razor saw and slice it up. Through in some slicks, steel wheels, hot-rodded Chevy 6 and rusty paintjob, and you have a nice little homage to 60s homebuilt dragsters.
1967 Corvette, 1/12th scale
This is sort of the pride and joy of my models collection. I love larger scale models, and this 1967 'Vette fits that bill at over a foot long. It began as a Monogram kit, and I stuck pretty close to the original kit here, with mild engine detailing and some chassis detailing. It's painted with Sikkens automotive paint, a 1994 Corvette color.
Custom Shovelhead
This is another high point in my collection. It began life as a 1/6 scale Tamiya Harley Davidson FLH. This model is huge...over 1 foot long and about 5 inches tall. Over time my taste in bikes changed, and I modified this model to reflect that.
It came with many "working" features, namely the suspensions, which actually pivot and move. The only real custom work on this one is the bobbed rear fender and airbrushed flames. I love this model, but it's fragile and heavy.

50 Chevy Mudder
I believe this kit started as an AMT-Ertl 1950 Chevy Truck. Originally I did it as a nice little hot rod; orange frame, tangerine interior, and a peachy body color. It had a nice little chrome and tangerine straight-6, fully wired. Then I got into 4X4s, and decided it needed to get dirty.
It's got wheels off a Monogram Snap-Tite Humvee, scratch-built frame and suspension, and some nice aftermarket tires and air-cleaner.

The Hot Rod
This is a very old model...I'm actually amazed it has survived as long as it has in my household. I don't remember where or when I got it, what brand the kit is, or even the build itself, but I do remember chopping it and how much work that was! It has a decently detailed Ford flathead engine and I believe the wheels and tires are from a '53 Corvette model, but that's about all I know about it. It's not perfect, but that's part of its charm.
1970 Chevelle SS
I built this model over 10 years ago...probably more like 15! It isn't greatly detailed, but it was a fun, fast build that yielded satisfying results. It has some minor customization. It could be better and is beginning to show it's age, but I still just love this model.
72 Chevy Shorty
This kit also started as an AMT-Ertl. My second go-around with this kit, I had the idea to shorten the box in 4X4 fashion. This require alot of custom body work, and while I still don't feel I got the wheelbase perfect, it looks tough. I can't even list how many different kits this thing has parts and pieces from. Fully scratch-built frame, scratch-built leaf-springs, steering, rollcaage, bumper and winch, seatbelts, shocks...the list goes on. Plasti-Cote paint...best stuff ever for modeling and I can't find it anymore!
1958 Chevy Impala
Everyone raves about the '57s, but I personally love the '58s. They are bigger, heavier, and perhaps the styling isn't quite as clean, but I think it's a more inspired design. I did this one up as a little retro-rod with a modern powerplant, but my ideal '58 would have the old 409.
I didn't open the cab on this kit...it came that way. It was a vintage AMT kit I believe, and built into a beautiful semblance of one of America's classic autos.

Hot Rod Jeep
This is a fun little beasty. Again, many scratch-built and kit-bashed components. This little baby got alot of attention. Blazer kit frame that's been shortened, scratch-built shocks and suspension linkages, rollbar, toolbox, etc.
